New Client FAQs
Are you accepting new clients?
Please call or text our team to confirm current appointment availability. We would be happy to help you schedule a visit or answer questions about getting started with Hometown Pet Vet.
What should I bring to my pet’s first appointment?
Please bring any previous medical records, vaccine history, current medications, and information about your pet’s health or behavior. If available, adoption, rescue, or breeder paperwork can also be helpful.
Can I send records before the appointment?
Yes. Sending records ahead of time helps our team review your pet’s history before the visit. If you are not sure how to send them, call or text us and we will help.
How should I prepare my pet for the visit?
Dogs should arrive on a leash, and cats should arrive in a secure carrier. If your pet is nervous, reactive, or has had a stressful experience at the vet before, please let us know so we can help make the visit as comfortable as possible.
What happens during the first visit?
Your pet’s first visit usually includes a physical exam, a review of medical history, and a conversation about vaccines, parasite prevention, nutrition, behavior, and any concerns you may have.
Do I need to download the clinic app?
The app is not required, but it can make it easier to request appointments, manage reminders, communicate with the clinic, and stay connected with your pet’s care.
Can I text the clinic?
Yes. You can text Hometown Pet Vet at 833-752-0995. Texting is a helpful option for non-emergency questions, appointment requests, and general communication during regular business hours.
What if my pet needs urgent care before becoming established?
If your pet is sick, injured, or not acting like themselves during regular business hours, please call or text us for guidance. If your pet is experiencing a life-threatening emergency or needs after-hours care, contact an emergency veterinary hospital right away.
